π PDSSSC Div 2 Champions! πππ Yesterday, our Inters Boys Touch Football team claimed the PDSSSC Division 2 Championship in a tense, high-paced match from start to finish. Up against an opposition with the equivalent of two to three full teams rotating on, our boys showed incredible grit and determination, driving the pace and securing the match-winning try in the final minute! π₯π This victory is a well-earned reward for their consistent effort, growth, and teamwork throughout the season. Our Stars of Hope, which has become a beautiful Wall of Hope, speaks to something deeply compelling within our Marist community at St Patrick's Marist College. βπ Each star carries a prayer of hope, entrusted to God, offered in faith and in solidarity with one another. ποΈ WWelcome to the Agoge! Our Year 12 Ancient History students stepped back in time this week to experience life as young Spartans in a re-enactment of the Agoge β Spartaβs intense education and training system for future citizens. Led by King Sheteh, students took part in a series of activities symbolising key stages of Spartan life π¬π·βοΈ From crawling through a βbirth tunnelβ and being inspected by elders, to performing synchronised poetry, dancing, exercises, and games like bullrush and silent Spartan, they finished with a dramatic phalanx formation (a rectangular mass of heavily armed infantry, typically ancient Greek hoplites, who fought shoulder-to-shoulder in tightly packed files and ranks. )! After each stage, they discussed the significance of these practices in Spartan society.
