ππ During this Lenten season, St. Patrickβs Marist College is partnering with the Jesuit Refugee Service Australia (JRS) to assist refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia. ππ ππ To assist JRS, we are asking for our community to donate essential items that will help these asylum seekers have the basic necessities as they settle into their new life in Australia. Items will be donated to our Ekklesia Food bank which we will then deliver to the JRS. ππ We kindly ask donations to be placed in reusable bags and dropped off before Homeroom. Commitment to Close the Gap clear for Western Sydney Catholic schools
Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) has released its first annual Closing the Gap report. This report outlines its contribution to improving socio-economic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly students and their families. CSPD Chief Executive Officer Jack de Groot said the report reflects the dedication of CSPDβs 6 500 staff in fostering reconciliation and equity through the organisationβs 80 outstanding school across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

ππ On March 17th, the second round of the Staff vs. Student Shield took place, with both teams showcasing their finest netball skills ππππ. The staff secured an early lead, maintaining their dominance throughout the game to claim a 10-5 victoryππ. ππ The match was played in great spirit, with enthusiastic support from the spectators. π£ π£ Huge congratulations to Year 11 student Christopher Nilon on his outstanding performance at the Athletics NSW Track and Field Championships on Thursday, March 13th. ππ ππ Chris claimed the gold medal in the Under-16 Junior Boys 5000m Race Walk, finishing with an impressive time of 26:39.99, earning the title of Under-16 State Junior Champion. His victory has secured him a spot at the Australian Track and Field Championships in Perth ππβa remarkable achievement and an incredible start to the year.
