St Patrick’s students touch football stars

On Monday 8 February 2016, St Patrick’s Marist College, Dundas students Tayla Duguid and Bradley Cincotta took out the duo of both male and female award for the 2015 NSWCCC Blue Award for Touch Football.
On Monday 8 February 2016, St Patrick’s Marist College, Dundas students Tayla Duguid and Bradley Cincotta took out the duo of both male and female award for the 2015 NSWCCC Blue Award for Touch Football at an awards evening held at St Patrick’s College, Sutherland.
Nominated and supported by their Principal Angela Hay, NSWCCC Convenor, Coach and Manager and the NSWCC Blue Award Sub Committee, these students proudly represented their school at all games and training sessions and participated in a true sporting manner.

Angela said the prestigious Blue Award recognises the participation in the true spirit of the NSWCCC Sporting Association.
‘Tayla also claimed the 2015 Vince Villa Memorial Award presented to the most outstanding male and female athlete of the year, for her level of performance, contribution and commitment to NSWCCC representative sport,’ Angela said. ‘This Award takes into consideration sporting excellence as well as her contribution to junior sport, school leadership roles, academic achievements, extra curricular activities and other school sport representation.’

‘This is the first time a student at St Patrick’s Marist has been awarded this honour, an outstanding achievement Tayla,’ she said. ‘Both Tayla and Bradley have represented the College at NSWCCC level for the past few years and we are extremely proud that their skills and abilities have been recognised.’

🔔🔔 On Sunday some of our college leaders attended the 2024 Leaders Commissioning Mass at St Paul’s Parish in Greystanes. This Catholic Youth Parramatta mass was celebrated by student leaders, teachers and parents from all over the diocese and a great way to begin their leadership journey. 💚💛

🤩🤩 Last week our college captains and vice captains attended the Marist Student Leaders Gathering. An annual event in Mittagong our students were able to participate in many sessions and fun activities run by the MYM team. Our students were able to connect with other student leaders from Marist Schools all over NSW as well as learn more about their own leadership styles and role. 💚💛 Last week a group of our year 10 students visited the Malek Fahd Islamic school as apart of our Interfaith dialogue program. The students from both schools spent the day getting to know each other and doing workshops. These workshop highlighted our similarities as humans regardless of religion as well as recognising our unconscious bias and how to get around this. We cannot wait to get together with these students again in the new year. 💚💛

💧🪣 Last week Our Year 7 Geography class along with Mrs Dawood and Mr Tusa completed a fieldwork experiment, walking in the shoes of those less fortunate. Ending it with the watering of the rose garden. 💧🪣 Water scarcity is defined as a water deficiency or a lack of safe water supplies. As the population of the world grows and the environment becomes further affected by climate change, access to fresh drinking water dwindles. Globally, 785 million people lack access to clean drinking water. geography 💚💛

🧑🔬👩🔬 On Friday the Year 9 Science class put their thinking caps on to see how far off the edge they could extend a marble. Each group was given the same resources and 30 minutes to build it. The winning team successfully extended the marble 25 cm from the edge. Well done! 💚💛
